Those who may need to apply statistical techniques and modeling for research purposes
Abstract: This seminar will cover regression analysis, analysis of variance and some non-parametric tests. Regression analysis is a statistical technique for estimating the relationship among variables which have possible cause and effect relations. You will review a variety of regression analysis techniques, such as multiple regression, hierarchical regression and binary/multinomial logistic regression. The assumptions of these regression analysis techniques – normality, linearity, no extreme values and missing value analysis – will be examined. As part of the analysis of variance, the analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and some post-hoc comparison tests will be discussed. Non-parametric statistics, which are statistics not based on parameterized families of probability distributions, have been more widely used in research in recent years. The seminar will cover major non-parametric tests for research purposes.
